Welcome

Welcome to Jan Palmer Art
I hope you enjoy browsing my website
Great News - My studio , where you can view my paintings and drawings, has been decluttered and tidied and is ready for visitors. My arthritis means that I am unlikely to be joining in external exhibitions, I'm in Anstruther in Fife. Just send a message via this website to arrange a time to visit. Everything is modestly priced and there is no pressure to buy!

I have an academic background in Art History, History and Psychology which I think influences my paintings but most of all I am inspired by the East Neuk and its colours. I work in a variety of media - oils, acrylics and gouache and mixed media. I also enjoy pencil drawing. I take inspiration from the area in which I live. The old harbours and buildings provide very colourful subjects. I also paint flowers from my gardens and from some of the lovely gardens around Scotland. My oil, acrylic and gouache paintings tend to be fairly representational although I like to paint large flowers and use warm, bright colours. I like to experiment with a variety of media, for instance, mixtures of ink and acrylics or oil pastels and acrylic. In some paintings I like to use a scraffiti technique.

I am happy to accept commissions. If you want a painting or drawing of your favourite East Neuk scene just contact me. Some of my paintings are framed whilst others are in mounts. More details can be given if you contact me. Many of my paintings, past and present, are used for a variety of good quality products on Redbubble.com (see Links).
